Quiet evening -- Levi is at the Hawks game & a feverish little boy is finally asleep after snuggles and Tylenol. Today we celebrated the life & love of Gloria Bollens, a dear friend from our Keystone Church community. The church was packed this afternoon, a tribute to the many lives Gloria touched. She was such a bright light & we will miss her so much. (here she is at the Festival of Hope, on the left)
Blake came to work with me today. After patiently playing in the big room outside my office, we had a
lovely walk around Tangletown & a donut at Mighty-O. We passed a
number of people walking, coming & going from their homes, & at
each sighting Blake hollared, "HI!!!" Usually multiple times
until the person acknowledged him.
I've walked or driven by this house a number of times, knowing only that a little old lady refused to sell to developers. It's my understanding that this story was the inspiration for the animated movie "Up." It's interesting to know more of the story.
A friend recently quizzed me about what foods Blake was eating at certain ages. Unable to rely on fuzzy early-mommyhood memory, I found myself looking back at blog spots. It made me realize how much I enjoy this space as an archive of our lives. So, I'm going to try to catch up again. We'll see how long it takes me, but hopefully many more posts will be coming your way from May-Oct 2014! Happy blogging!
My dear friend Liz gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in March. We have visited them in Mt Vernon multiple times, but our visit in June was particularly nice. We had lots of time to play and visit. Blake spent some time with Liz's husband, Steve, exploring on their property while mom had quality time with Liz and baby Lucas.
