Search for WMD has ended.

The NY times and several other papers are reporting that the White House is finally calling off the search for WMD's.

We were still looking? I thought it was painfully clear to everyone not only did they not exist most of America didn't care. Next thing you know people will be saying Iraq had nothing to do with 911.....oh wait. Why are we in Iraq again???

So you think that the world would be much safer with Sadam still in control? Not only are the people of Iraq better off, but so is the rest of the world. Who cares if they couldn't find any right now. The rest of the world hates the US even if we weren't in Iraq. Micheal Moore and you would be great friends:)

Anonymous, Thanks for posting.

You are correct, I do not think the world, as a whole, is a safer place without Saddam. I think Saddam was a horrible person who did horrible things to his people, but I do not think he was a threat to the United States. He did not have WMD and was not connected to the attack on the world trade center. Iraq is anthing but secure right now. There are daily suicide bombing and the Iraqi people are taking the brunt of the bombings as well as our solders.

If you want to argue we went to war to protect the Iraqi people then why are we ignoring the countless other counties of the world that are suffering from dictators.

We went to war to secure our short term economic future. The idea is to set up a democracy in the middle east and try to break OPEC. If you think that is worth a war and American lives then so be it.

I think it is sad that many American people don't care that there were never any WMDs to be found in Iraq.
The war was fed to us by the current administration on the basis that Iraq had WMD & that we were at risk from a possible attack. Do the American people not remember how the administration convinced us we should go to war? It was all about how we were in danger & how Saddam poised a huge safety threat to us & our homeland. Sure, part of the arguments were also about liberating the Iraqi people, but for anyone who listens to any news sources other than Fox news, knows that is not going well.
Iraq is not a threat to us now & it wasn't four years ago. Saddam has no connections to Al Queda & he had nothing to do with 9-11, which is a gross misconception among the American populace.
We should be questioning an administration that led us to war using false evidence.
What has happened to the American people that they will sue & argue any corperation or business that misrepresents the slightest detail, but they will not question the people that took us to war under completely false pretenses? Somewhere, the truths & policies that our country was built upon no longer matter to many Americans...how sad.

It's amazing how ungreatful American's can be. Its also amazing how you Democrates are all pissed off that we are Iraq and lied to and all this of BS but when Clinton was in office he lied infront of America about the Lewinsky situation, the Watergate situation but thats never brought up. I guess thats ok though, I mean he was a democrate so lets just turn our head and bitch about the republican's and how we are lied to. Do I personally think we should be in Iraq right now, no..I think its time we start to think about leaving, but then we are leaving a country in shambles and who knows what ruthless leader will step into power after their last great leader. Here's a news flash....WERE THERE! Quit bitching about No Iraq War and how we were lied to. The American people don't need to know every last detail of what is going on, its probably best if we dont know alot more than we do. We live in the best country in the world...why do you think we are having a immigration problem. People want our freedom, so please enjoy it and go back to complaining about things that matter like Global Warming. You'll make more of an impact there than complaining about Iraq. Ohh yeah, this is Cory....like you couldn't tell already:)

Great point about Lewinsky Cory. Clinton was infact impeached over it. So you are making the same arguement for the current administration?

We all saw how much of an impact impeaching Clinton made. I'm all for giving Bush the "impeached" label but like Clinton he should stay in office.
