NEW BIKE

My new bike arrived today--a Trek 1500, women's specific frame, carbon fork, Shimano 105 & Ultegra components. I could only go for a short ride this evening, as it was getting dark, but man does it feel great! And it's gorgeous! :)
My road cycling shoes come in next week & finally I'll be able to clip in! Hoping for good weather next week to commute to work!

Huskies come close, but in the end

They were not able to beat the #1 UConn team and battle the officals at the same time. Yet another case of Seattle sports being on the short end of some very poor officating. Lets break down the stats.

Fouls
Uconn - 19
UW - 31

Players fouled out
Uconn - 0
UW - 5

Free Throws Attempted
Uconn - 47
UW - 23

Goal Tendings NOT called in Overtime
Uconn - 0
UW - 1

BS Technical Fouls
Uconn - 1
UW - 1 (But that cost them 8 minutes without Brandon Roy)

Seriously just let a game be played straight up, why do the officals need to leave there mark and be the center of attention. No one is paying to watch you call fouls.

Great season for UW, and a great career for Roy has now ended. He will be a star in the NBA.

Elyse's Graduation Weekend

We had a great weekend in Bellingham for Elyse's graduation from Western Washington University. The folks came out from Spokane of course & it happened to be perfect timing for Grandma to join us from Ohio.

Elyse walking

Here's JP's seat (Elyse's boyfriend), but he was excused from attending the two hour ceremony. :)

Elyse with us & Jesse, a friend from Western

Saturday evening we had a great dinner at the Cliffhouse (thanks Mom & Dad!), but we unfortunately forgot the camera. Sunday morning we headed south on Chuckanut Drive, to show Grandma some of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. It was a gorgeous weekend.

Birthday weekend

It's been a great birthday weekend--thanks to all for making it special. Relaxing now on Sunday morning, gearing up for a long road bike ride with some friends.

Friday we gathered with friends at Redhook. Didn't stay out very late, as I was going for a mountain bike ride at 9am the next morning. (the crazy late celebratory night will be 3/22 at the Little Red Hen, for both Jen's, Kelly's, & my birthdays)

Weekend Wedding

Lindsay "hurry up and go it's your" Turner is now happily Lindsay Smith. We went back to Spokane to attend the wedding of Lindsay and Kevin Smith.

Sadly my camera battery was low or this would have been a great picture.

The reception was at the Davenport. It was the first time I have been in the hotel since it was remodeled a few years back. They have done a nice job of restoring it to its original decor.

There first dance was special as all first dances are.

It was also great to see my parents. They are doing well and we will see them in a couple weeks for my sisters graduation. All and all it was a very nice weekend.

50 miles on Soy Beans

This is a really great idea and a great story. A group of High School shop students have developed a car that goes from 0-60 in 4 seconds and runs on Soy Bean Oil. Now that is cool!!
