Boo's graduating!!

Boo finished her final quarter this week & will walk in Bastyr's graduation ceremony on Monday. While she still has a nine month internship to complete in the fall, she's now a RD, or registered dietitian. Yeah for Boo!!
Last night was the graduates' dinner at the college--yummy food & lovely strolls around the gardens.
Here's Boo & Liz, her best bud from the nutrition program.
The turtles in the Bastyr pond.
Part of her support group. :)
And her major supporter, Bet!
There's our little redhead standing with the other graduates during the graduate blessing.

Happy Father's Day!!

A few days late, but I hope everyone enjoyed it!
I had an entire weekend of family fun.
Saturday morning was spent at the Musuem of Flight with my Dad & the Hearn family. I was rather enthralled by the new space exhibit with current info about the planets in our solar system & the new definitions of dwarf planets. Things have changed a little bit since I was a 9 year old space junky. Here's Daddy with three of his four kids (Emily & her family will be coming home from California in early July!)

Saturday night the older Gowey girl cousins --minus Megan :(-- got together for a sleepover at our Grandparents' house. It was great fun--we talked & laughed all evening.

We had tomato soup & grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner, just like Grandma used to make for us.

And silly times playing with the toys that were our playthings at the Grandparents' when we were kids.

And drinking tea out of Grandma's chicken mugs (we also all went down to feed the chickens & reminisced about the yard & creek).

All cozied up in the living room with a fire.

Sunday, Levi headed up to Bellingham with some friends to ride Galbraith Mountain. We finished off our sleepover with a waffle breakfast & a walk to the Lake Forest Park Farmer's Market, & then headed up the hill for a Father's Day gathering at my aunt & uncle's.

I just can't stop taking photos of my adorable little cousins. :)

Grandpa's waving hello.

Amanda & her dad--she has a mouthful of olives that she just ate off her fingertips.

And in other news...it's good to know that I am still not allergic to bees. Levi & I went for a long road bike ride last night with some friends. While riding along the scenic Seward Park, a bee hit my cheek & stung me! Thankful it did not swell up much & it doesn't hurt anymore.

In nature sitings...it seems like there's an abundance of flickers this year! I saw three just yesterday!

Entertainment for the day...

As many of you know, I cover the receptionist at our corporate offices for her lunch break & usually sit here doing Heifer work while answering the phone. Well, today I found other entertainment...what celebrities do I look like?
http://www.myheritage.com

It's been quite the entertaining hour plugging different photos into this wonder of modern technology! My hubby will be thrilled to know that I got matched six times with Kate Beckinsale. Interesting though that I didn't get any matches with the two celebrities I am most often told I look like--Katie Holmes & the daughter from the Sopranos.

Fun Weekend

Hope everyone is well. Good weekend around here. Liza moved some Heifer stuff so we might have a garage again soon. She also went on a long Mountain bike ride on Saturday and didn't get hurt! Saturday night was the Ballard Crit. It was exciting as always. Good racing on wet roads, always interesting. The Cat 1 and 2 men had I believe 5 crashes on the first 3 laps. Once things settled down though it made for a very exciting race.

I went on a long Road bike ride today. Felt good, it was the first long ride (50+ miles) of the year for me.

In other news it appears the matches in Rocky II, III, and IV have been overturned

Sunny Weekend

Hope everyone had fun on this beautiful weekend!
Friday we celebrated my cousin's birthday at the M's game, Saturday was a family gathering at my Aunt's amazing place in Olympia, & today was gardening, cleaning & bike maintenance.
Cousin Mere & her two nieces.

The baseball boys (Levi & cousin Seth) enjoying the game.

Bet, Boo & me amusing ourselves at the game.

The extensive property at my Aunt & Uncle's includes a great treehouse.
We explored the place, played frolf & a bunch of lawn games, & ate a ton of food. Great fun.

There's even a zipline!
(little cousin Kayla had great fun on it, wrapped securely around one of her uncles).

My cutest cousin, Amanda Jane. Excited news--she's looking like a lefty! That'll make three of us within the entire Gowey clan.

Oh wait, my other cutest cousin, Kayla Jo.

Mother to the cutest girls, Clarissa.

And my sweet Mama.

G'night to all!
I'm headed to bed to enjoy the cool breeze blowing into our open window, bringing the smell of fresh rain.
