We had a great evening of climbing last night. Sean brought all the gear & expertise & gave us an informative lesson. We each headed up the rock face twice & I loved it! I belayed Levi both times he was climbing. We ended the evening with a gorgeous sunset on I-90 & goodbyes from our friends who are moving to Wisconsin.
Friday evening was spent in West Seattle relaxing & enjoying time with family. It was wonderful--the balmy evening in the lush garden, the laughter & stories, & the marvelous dinner topped off with delicious blackberry pie & ice cream!
Thursday evening was the practice run for Ryan & Jen. Rehearsal at the gorgeous wedding site of DeLille Cellars went off without a hitch & we all enjoyed dinner afterwards.
Saturday Boo & I hosted a lovely little bridal shower for our glowingly pregnant sister, Emily. Food was eaten, games were played, laughter was abundant--good times had by all in celebration of the baby girl due in less than a month!
Here comes the main event!
Soon to be Grandma & Great Grandma!
Yummy spice cake!
Auntie Mel helping Mom count up her wins for the baby diaper pin game.
And of course, the traditional pose: woman of the hour on the diving board.
So Bet and I had no intentions of hanging around for Emily's baby shower. So instead we headed to one of his favorite hikes as a kid, Rachel Lake. It was a very difficult hike, atleast a day after participating in a bike messenger race and playing soccer.
Here are pictures from the hike.
Yes Bet and I jumped in the one below. Not as cold as Kintla however. I rate it the 3rd coldest I have jumped in. 2. Kintla 1. Sequim Bay in mid Febuary.
The first weekend in August was girls only in Whistler, Canada, celebrating the upcoming marriage of my good friend, Jen. In Canada bachelorette parties are called Stagettes, which we agreed was a way cooler term. So, here's to Jen's Stagettes!
Here is Floyd's latest comments on the doping scandel of the Tour de France. I will be amazed if cyclist don't form a union soon to combat the slander produced by the UCI. It seems every story is "leaked" and every opportunity is taken to shock the public before the facts are known.
It is interesting, for those of you who have followed the story, in Floyds blog he states that his T was not high but the E was very low thus throwing off his ratio. This is different then what every major article has lead the public to believe.
