Holidays
We've done so much in the past week that I feel a bit overwhelmed to blog about it. So many photos & gatherings & fun -- too much to post everything. All of it was wonderful but some special highlights were...
Tillie holding Blake (even though she kept referring to him as "it")
Blake receiving two of my family's wonderful Christmas traditions -- a book pile & his very own stocking.
These three boys meeting for the first time -- Myles born October 23rd, Blake born September 29th & Graham born April 8th.
Looking forward to Gowey Christmas (my mom's family) tomorrow.
We hope everyone has had a peaceful & joyful holiday!

Social Bug
Things have been busy around here with working, taking care of Blake & getting ready for Christmas, sometimes simultaneously! Hopefully soon I'll have time to upload some new photos & adventures. For now though, I just wanted to take a minute to share about Blake -- he loves talking & flirting with me (& others) so much that often when nursing I need to put a blanket over his head. Otherwise he will just lay there & look up at me, cooing & smiling. As much as it is a great delight, he needs to eat!

Discovered on Sunday that Blake stops crying when I sing. The first sign of this was in church -- he was a little fussy, but whenever we sung, he would quiet down. So later that afternoon, when he was particularly fussy, I just started singing & after a few last gulps of air, Blake completely quieted down, looking at me wide-eyed while I sang away. The radio however, does not cut it. On Monday he was fussy in the car & I sang along with the radio to no avail, but as soon as I turned the radio off & sang solo, he settled down. Awesome new trick. Must learn more songs.

Weekend Fun
This weekend Blake got to go pick out his first Christmas tree AND see his cousin Myles.
Sunday we hung out & watched the Seahawks game with the Lanmans.

Levi's work Christmas party was tonight -- our first night away from Blake together. We headed off to Bellevue for the party & lucky Blake spent the evening with the Soltani family. It was so fun (& comforting) to get updates about how things were going. I love seeing my dear friend's family loving & caring for our little boy!
Noah held him multiple times & even sang sweet lullabies when he thought no one was listening.
Modern technology sure has taken the stress out of leaving your baby for your first evening out together. Not only was I able to get updates about how Blake was doing, but I was able to receive these precious photos of the great time he was having! Thank you Solatani family (& Kathy) for taking such wonderful care of Blake & gifting us with our first evening out.

2 Months
Blake hit 8 weeks last Saturday & today we got the official stats at his 2 month well check.
Weight: 13 lbs, 4 oz -- 90-95%
Height: 23.75 inches -- 75-90%
He still prefers to have his hands out where he can wave them around (see above photo) & he kicks his legs much more now also. Just this week he rolled over for the first time, surprising himself & us! We are delighting in how expressive he is & his interactions with everyone around him. He smiles very readily & "talks" with coos & squawks.
He loves being around people & gets fussy if removed from all the activity.
He has changed so much in two months but one thing stays the same -- he is such a joy!
