More World Baseball Classic news
Arod, True to form remains a bandwagon rider. The same Arod that signed with the Rangers for 250 million dollars then jumping ship to the Yankees now says he is going to play for the DR in the Classic. The man born in NY and raised in Miami is feeling he DR heritage. Could this be because the US has Rollin and Hblock at 3B and Arod doesn't want to compete with those two for the spot? I hope the DR doesn't take him and starts Aramis Ramirez at 3B, but I am sure he will have his way once again.

Mid Summer Classic
Time for the All-star game. The only all-star game worth watching in my opinion. Not because of the stupid home field advantage, but because the players actually care. The play offense and Defense unlike hockey, baseketball, and the incredible boring football all-star games.
On of the main topics of this years game is the World Baseball Classic that will be introduced this Spring. I have been a huge fan of this idea for about 10 years now. Ever since I first started watching World Cup Soccer and all the passion the fans have for their sport and country. I knew baseball should have the same type of tourneyment.
The "Classic" is a tourneyment featuring 16 countries for the title of best baseball country in the world. I say the DR is the inside favorite. However not everyone is a fan of the idea. Mr. Shelfield, the guy who had no idea "the cream" and "the clear" were steriods they were just something his good friend Barry gave to him, says that he isn't playing if he isn't getting paid. Now that is a great attitude. The guy makes 10 plus million a year, but can't bring himself to represent his country in a baseball tourneyment without getting paid.
Good Shef the US doesn't need you.

Portland
Well the wife and I spent Saturday in Portland. We went to Powels, Widmer Brewery and a AAA baseball game. Aaron was our host and tour guide. Thanks! We really had a great time. Put some pictures up below.
Now let me rant about Beaverton. So we get into town at like 11 pm. We are trying to find Aarons place and looking for street signs. As we are going along the light turns yellow, but we have plenty of time (or so I think). Instead it is a short yellow light and as we go through the intersection the car is lit up from above by an extreme flash of light followed by another. My wife thinks aliens are landing but I know better. We have fallen for one of the newest city money making schemes. I am sure we will have a ticket in the mail shortly for running a red light. What a bunch of muck....Install cameras, shorten the yellow light, and collect money. Lets hope this area doesn't try this scheme. I personally think it is extremely dangerous. Flashing lights like the ones we cause heart attacks ans seizers (which I probably spelled wrong).
After we finally get to Aaron's he shares with us that the police also have these vans that the park in church parking lots that take pictures of speeders and mail them tickets. They are required to put out signs but until recently they hit the signs behind trees.
When I was unemployed I looked at several jobs in Beaverton area. Man am I glad I did not move there.

What is this biking craze?
I guess I am part of it at any rate I am peezed at it. I have been trying to get my wife a decently priced road bike for 2 months now. It is virutally impossible. Bikes are flying off craigslist within hours of when they are posted. Today I have a guy hold a bike for me. He couldn't hold it for 4 hours. Some guy bugged him enough to sell it to him right away before I could make it over to pick it up. Oh well we will catch a break soon enough.
The Tour de France is on TV so everyone needs a road bike.
Ok I am tired of ranting.

Slow Weekend
Well not much is going on this weekend. We are staying in town and it sound like Elyse will be joining us to hang out tomorrow. It has been clouding and gray all day long. Eliza and I went for a short bike ride this morning and that was nice. Gotta get her a road bike so we can go on longer rides.
We did watch a very entertaining movie last night called "Sideways." The basic premise is two guys spending the week before one of their weddings touring Northern California's wife country. It was a little rough around the edges but overall very well done.
My fish is still alive!
For those who check into the blog Eliza and I both watched Live 8 this morning. Some amazing concerts. Some of my favorites were the Who, Pink Floyd, Green Day, Stevie Wonder, and Cold Play. Seeing Pink Floyd on the stage again was really cool. What an amazing sound they produce.
In other disturbing news it looks like Bushy gets to promote a Supreme Court Justice soon. Help us.
Look like the wife is ready to go to Ikea. Later
